The Pittsburgh Steelers have been quiet this offseason.
They have not made any splash moves in free agency or via trade.
Well, it looks like that is about to change.
According to Tom Pelissero, the Steelers are closing in on a deal to acquire Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson.
The #Steelers are working to finalize a trade to acquire veteran WR Allen Robinson from the #rams and have been granted permission to give him a physical, per sources.
If the Steelers are comfortable with the physical, Robinson is expected to land in Pittsburgh. pic.twitter.com/AIm6BMox7l

This deal came out of nowhere, but the Rams have been offloading higher-priced players all offseason.
Robinson was ineffective for the Rams last season.
He caught 33 passes for 339 yards and three touchdowns.
It was an overwhelming year for a player expected to break out in LA.
Now as Robinson is set to head to Pittsburgh, there are mixed reviews from fans.
gross. Wish they would have just went and got deandre Hopkins.

Good lord Steelers fans can be insufferable sometimes. He dudes a solid receiver, good size, experience in the slot, and is still just 29. Hasn’t had much in the way of QBs throwing to him lately, but know he will have KP. This could be a really good addition.

Robinson has fallen off in recent years, and he has been often injured.
Yet, many people remember how good he was in Jacksonville to start his career.

From the Steelers’ perspective, they needed a third wide receiver.
They currently have Diontae Johnson and George Pickens on the roster, and Robinson could slide into that third spot.
Also, the Steelers did not have to give up anything in this deal.
According to Adam Schefter, they traded a seventh-round pick and even got one back.
Trade terms agreement:
🏈Steelers get WR Allen Robinson and a 7th-round pick (No. 251).
🏈Rams receive 7th-round pick (No. 234).
Rams pay $10.25 million of Robinson’s salary; Steelers pay remaining $5 million. Robinson is scheduled to be in Pittsburgh for a physical Wednesday.

Moving back 17 picks in the seventh round and having to pay $5 million does not seem too bad for the Steelers.
It is a quality low-risk, high-reward move that can pay large dividends.
Big W for Pittsburgh

The Steelers want to give quarterback Kenny Pickett as many weapons as possible.
That is exactly what they are doing with this deal.
