Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings had a very questionable moment.

This moment involved DeAndre Hopkins taking a nasty hit in the end zone by a Vikings defender.

However, with the online video evidence, Hopkins is now demanding answers from the NFL.

He took to Twitter to make his demand for an answer, using the video of the hit as his evidence.

With Hopkins clearly upset, how bad was this hit that he took on Sunday?

Hopkins Wants Answers

While officials saw nothing wrong with the play on Hopkins, one Twitter user saw the hit as clear targeting of the head.

This then leads Hopkins to ask for an explanation of the rules by the NFL.

As NFL fans know, helmet-to-helmet hits are dangerous, which is why players are offered protections against hits like these.

However, the NFL made a tweak to this rule for the 2022 season.

Rule Change Might Explain Why No Flag Was Thrown

For the 2022 season, the NFL rulebook had a change with their helmet-to-helmet penalty.

Under the old rules, the hit is a clear penalty, as the defender initiated contact with his helmet.

However, the rule change removes this part.

They also added in the requirement that the hit be “forcible contact.”

Since Hopkins didn’t suffer an injury, the officials might have felt the hit wasn’t forcible.

However, under the old language, this is a clear penalty.
