The Indianapolis Colts took a big gamble in the 2023 NFL Draft.
They took Anthony Richardson, perhaps the most intriguing and polarizing quarterback prospect we had seen in years.
And as raw as he may be, former NFL player Dan Orlovsky still has faith in him and his ability to make an impact early on in the season.

Orlovsky ranked AFC teams by tiers ahead of the upcoming campaign, and he believes the Colts could be in the same tier as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos.
Truth be told, the Colts already had a solid defense and some misused playmakers in the passing game.
They now have a new head coach ready to revamp that offense, and there’s a chance that Richardson will turn out to be a generational player.
Of course, it might not happen overnight.
Richardson doesn’t have that much experience after only making a handful of appearances for the Florida Gators last season, and his poor accuracy was a big concern ahead of his transition to the pros.
He’s one of the most athletic QBs we’ve ever seen, excelling at every single drill at the NFL combine and his Pro Day, and he’s got the physical tools to be a dual-threat for years to come.
Going with the prospect with the highest upside always makes sense.
But the Colts and their fans also need to realize that there will be some growing pains along the way, as he’s still quite raw and will be a work in progress.
