Dalvin Cook has officially been released by the Minnesota Vikings.

While Cook waits to sign with a new NFL roster, he has recently declared that he’d like to pair up with another elite offensive player.

On a podcast episode with Adam Schefter, Cook said it would be “epic” to link up with DeAndre Hopkins.

Hopkins and Cook are both in search of employment.

While Cook entertained the idea of finding himself on the same team as Hopkins, is this a realistic outcome?

For one, Hopkins is currently seeking a massive deal, and Cook is also looking to get a nice payday.

If a contending team was truly interested in both players, it would likely be accompanied by a hefty price tag.

While Hopkins may find the contract he’s hoping for, Cook might not be so lucky.

The running back market has soured in the past several years, especially with the NFL being such a pass-friendly league.

Wide receivers have retained their market value, and they’ve been able to get large contract extensions as a result.

Hopkins has taken part in several free-agent visits and allegedly has a few interested suitors.

Up to this point, Cook hasn’t gone on any public visits, leaving him hanging out to dry for the moment.

Due to Hopkins’ visits thus far, he is likely to be the first one signed of the two players.

Will Cook follow him to his new team, assuming they are interested in adding an aging back to their roster?
