The Dallas Cowboys and their fan base have been desperate for a deep playoff run and, ultimately, a Super Bowl victory.
After losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs in 2022, many have wondered what this team is missing.
Whether it’s the coaching staff, the quarterback or a combination of multiple factors, the Cowboys are looking for a spark.
In a recent video shared by NFL Rookie Watch, the Cowboys’ first-round pick this season, Mazi Smith, provided an offseason spark.
Mazi Smith is built DIFFERENT in the weight room.
For starters, Smith does 22 reps on the bench press, but at 325 pounds instead of 225.
Smith’s max bench press is 550 pounds.
Aaron Donald does 500.
The Michigan football team even had to call the makers of this machine… pic.twitter.com/3CVaqF5uyw

In this video, Smith demonstrates his strength, moving 800 pounds of weights on a machine.
As the NFL Rookie Watch page points out, Smith bench presses 50 pounds more than Aaron Donald.
Smith was a highly respected defensive tackle prospect and now he will have the opportunity to play for one of the most storied franchises in the NFL.
He’ll get a chance to join a defense with the likes of Micah Parsons, Leighton Vander Esch and Trevon Diggs.
With any luck, Smith’s skill set will prove to be exactly what this team is looking for to win the NFC East for the second time in three years.
The division was won by the Philadelphia Eagles last season, with the Cowboys trailing right behind them.
The New York Giants also made the playoffs last year, meaning the division sent three representatives to the postseason.
Whether that happens again depends largely on how the Cowboys can start the year and whether players like Smith can make an immediate impact.
