The Kansas City Chiefs have everything going for them to repeat as Super Bowl champions next season.
Most people think of them as the biggest offensive juggernaut in the game, even despite Eric Bieniemy’s departure to the Washington Commanders.
Of course, most of that has to do with the fact that Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce are still in town.
But as over the top as his offense is, and rightly so, we can’t ignore his defensive prowess either.
With that in mind, Chiefs defensive star Chris Jones took to Twitter to let it be known that he will be seeking the highest honor for a player at his position next season: the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award.

Notably, Jones was one of the frontrunners to take home that honor last season, but it ultimately went to Nick Bosa.
Jones is one of the most disruptive defensive forces in the league, an unblockable guy always trying to wreak havoc on the line of scrimmage, and one of the best players at his position.
It may not steal most of the headlines due to Mahomes’ stellar play, but the Chiefs’ defense has been much better than advertised in recent years.
And there’s no denying that Jones has all the physical and mental tools to deliver on that promise, especially if the Chiefs step up and become just as dominant on that side of the field as they have been when it’s the offense’s turn to take over. post.
