Browns Insider Believes Team Should Pursue DeAndre Hopkins

Earlier this week, the Arizona Cardinals announced that the team had released veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins after failing to find a trade partner.

With Hopkins now officially a free agent, rumors and speculation have begun to swirl about where the five-time All-Pro wideout might land before the start of the 2023 NFL season.

One of those rumored landing spots for Hopkins is the Cleveland Browns, who would reunite him with quarterback Deshaun Watson and perhaps create a dynamic duo with Amari Cooper downfield.

With the Browns investing a lot of money in Watson, it would be wise for the team to bring in the one wide receiver he’s had the most success with on the NFL level, as Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com suggests.

The Browns will be under tremendous pressure to succeed over the next few years after investing so much money in Watson to be the face of the franchise moving forward.

Along with all the pressure, the AFC North will be one of the toughest, if not the toughest division in the NFL next season and perhaps for the foreseeable future.

Cleveland will have to contend with the likes of the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens, that will likely be considered Super Bowl title contenders right out of the gate next season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will also be a force to be reckoned with and could be dangerous if Kenny Pickett takes a giant leap forward in 2023.

Signing Hopkins is a no-brainer and something the team should put all its energy into ahead of the 2023 campaign.
