The Dallas Cowboys were not interested in signing Odell Beckham Jr. or DeAndre Hopkins.
And while some of his fans may not be thrilled about that, it just shows that they’re pretty confident in their current wide-receiving corps.
With that in mind, it’s not surprising to see The Athletic’s Jon Machota (via Dov Kleiman) report that the team is eager to sign CeeDee Lamb to a very lucrative contract extension.
Update: #Cowboys are projected to sign Pro Bowl WR CeeDee Lamb to a contract worth between $25-$30 million a year, he writes @jonmachota.

The former first-round pick has been a standout since entering the league in 2020, recording 275 receptions for 3,602 yards and 21 touchdowns over the course of his brief career.
He’s already a two-time Pro Bowl player and appears to be one of the rising stars at his position, even despite the mediocre and inconsistent play of Dak Prescott and his backups.
In particular, Machota believes the Cowboys are looking to sign him to a contract worth between $25 million and $30 million a year, adding that the team has him right behind Prescott in terms of priorities.
As of now, the top five highest-earning wide receivers in the league make about $24 million per year, so Lamb’s contract extension could reset the market for players at that position.
He could even make as much money as Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill, currently in the middle of a four-year contract worth $30 million per season.
Lamb is currently set to make just $4.5 million next season since he’s still on his rookie deal, so the team better make the most of that deal while they still can since he’s about to get a huge increase.
