The Atlanta Falcons could be primed to make a big move this offseason.
There is no question the Falcons need a franchise quarterback.
It seems like they plan to allow Desmond Ridder to show what he can do in 2023.
Unless a former MVP becomes available on the open market.
Lamar Jackson is set to be an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins.
That means he will be free to sign with any team.
The Ravens have no interest in letting Jackson go, but if they did the Falcons would be all-in.
If Lamar Jackson doesn’t come available I suspect that is what they will do. https://t.co/0Kebbrmt2s

If Atlanta was to land Jackson they would immediately be the favorites in the NFC South.
After Tom Brady’s retirement, there is not a franchise quarterback in the division.
Jackson would give Atlanta just that and an immediate upgrade over the rest of the teams.
The quarterback is the most important position in the NFL.
Ridder and an aging veteran will simply not get it done.
But, Atlanta will have no other choice if they are unable to sway Jackson away from Baltimore.
It will be interesting to see what other moves the Falcons make this offseason.
Other than Jackson there is another QB they could be interested in.
That is former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
Like Jackson, they would both be the best quarterback in the NFC South, and that is a huge advantage.
Having a franchise quarterback is so important that the Falcons must find a way to get one.
