After suffering at least two concussions this season and spending a good deal of time in the NFL’s concussion protocol after the end of the regular season, future Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa seems to be in jeopardy.
Some have called on him to call it quits for his own good, but there is no indication he will at least consider doing so.
But he has made it clear that he appreciates the Dolphins making him take his time while going through the protocol to make sure he was back to 100 percent.
“For concussion protocol, I think the team did me the biggest service throughout that… They were protecting me from myself. Me and my family are very thankful for the Dolphins.”

His first big scare came early in the season when he took a big hit, then got up but looked very wobbly.
He remained in that contest, but many speculated afterwards that he had suffered some sort of brain trauma and should’ve been held out of the balance of the game.
Then came Week 4 versus the Cincinnati Bengals, when he suffered a confirmed concussion and didn’t return until nearly a month later.
On Christmas Day against the Green Bay Packers, Tagovailoa sustained yet another concussion, which ended his season prematurely.
It’s a shame that Tagovailoa had to deal with the concussions he sustained this season, because for much of it, he was having a breakout season.
In his previous two campaigns, he was starting to look like he would not live up to being the fifth player chosen in the 2020 NFL Draft.
But this year, he threw for 3,548 yards and 25 touchdowns while leading the league with a 105.5 passer rating.
In doing so, he helped Miami display an offense that often looked explosive while helping wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill put up some big numbers.
