After Tom Brady’s retirement, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers once again find themselves in a quarterback conundrum.
Currently, Kyle Trask is the only quarterback on their roster, a player that they drafted in the second round of the 2021 draft.
In his two years on the team, the Buccaneers have been largely silent about the progression of Trask, but we received a minor update today.
#buccaneers 3rd-year QB Kyle Trask: “Has not been a quick study.”, according to @NFLSTROUD
Added that Trask has been in Tampa two years “trying to learn a system that he’s no longer going to play in,”

Although Trask had a successful career at the University of Florida, it appears that he hasn’t quite caught on in the NFL.
Who will the Buccaneers roll out at the quarterback position in 2023?
With Brady announcing his retirement, that is no longer an option for them.
Perhaps, it will be a player that they go after in free agency, considering that there are a few players that are still up for grabs.
At this point, it seems unlikely that Trask will be their starter next year, especially considering this report.
The Buccaneers play in the NFC South, a division that they won in 2022, despite their 8-9 record.
It’s clear that this division is very much so up for grabs, and the Buccaneers will look to win the division again next year.
Who will be the quarterback to lead them there?
Whoever it is, Trask or otherwise, will be entering a system that will look a lot different than it did in 2022.
