The Las Vegas Raiders are not one of the NFL’s best teams, but they have one player who has risen to the top of the NFL ranks.
Josh Jacobs is having a phenomenal season, leading all running backs in rushing yards.

Unless he gets injured, he is on pace to finish the season as the NFL rushing leader, considering he leads the next closest back by 203 yards.
For historical context, Jacobs’ previous season high for rushing yards happened in his rookie season in 2019, gaining 1,150 yards in 13 games.
Along with his impressive rushing total on the season, Jacobs is also averaging 5.2 yards per carry.
Not only has Jacobs rushed for the NFL’s highest amount of yards this season, but he is tied for seventh in rushing efficiency on the season.
The Future Of Jacobs
After 2022, Jacobs will no longer be tied to the Raiders.
In 2019, Jacobs signed a four-year contract with the Raiders, after being drafted with the 24th overall pick.
It appears as though he will test free agency in the offseason, and his status with the Raiders is largely unknown.
For Jacobs’ sake, having the best season of your career is a great way to get recognized, and to earn a hefty contract in the offseason.
Will the Raiders make a play at the young back, who will be 25 by the time the 2023 season rolls around?
Jacobs is likely to have many suitors in the offseason, so long as he can stay healthy for the remainder of the year.
