The Broncos Should Easily Have An Elite Record

During the offseason, the Denver Broncos landed a new quarterback.

It was believed that the arrival of former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson would turn the Broncos into title contenders.

In reality, it has not improved the Broncos at all and has turned Willson into a bit of a joke, especially with his fascination with the phrase “Broncos Country, Let’s Ride,” and his high knees incident on the plane to London.

But, let us look at the figures, and what could have been for the Broncos if only one thing was done.

A Touchdown Away From Greatness

After 13 weeks of the season, the Broncos currently have a 3-9 record.

On average, the Wilson-led offense is scoring 13.8 points per game.

This means statistically, they are the worst offense in the league.

Even the one-win Houston Texans have a higher points-per-game average.

But, the Broncos’ defense is strong.

Many of Denver’s wins and losses this year have been one-possession games, with the opponent scoring less than 20 points.

So, if the Broncos scored one touchdown more a game, they would win a lot more games.

Their record would be 9-3, instead of 3-9.

That changes everything.

Wilson’s arrival would have been heralded as a massive success that will bring Denver back to the days of John Elway and recently, Peyton Manning.

They would be contenders, battling with the Kansas City Chiefs.

But, due to scoring one less touchdown than needed, they are not a success.

Broncos Country is certainly not riding.
