Although Dalvin Cook is one of the best running backs in the NFL and in his prime, the Minnesota Vikings decided to release him this offseason, making him a free agent.

There are reportedly several teams interested in the four-time Pro Bowler, and he could only turn the fortunes of one of them around.

The team most closely related to Cook is the Miami Dolphins, a team that seems to have almost everything except one above-average running back.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington seems convinced that Cook will end up signing with the Dolphins, especially since he is a Miami native.

Cook may not get the same recognition as Derrick Henry and Jonathan Taylor, but he has been consistently productive over the years.

In each of the past four seasons, he rushed for more than 1,100 yards while being named to the Pro Bowl, and had 13 rushing touchdowns in 2019 and 16 in 2020.

Last season, it was one of the main reasons the Vikings won 13 games, tying them for the second-highest win total in the NFL along with the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills.

The Dolphins have a fearsome wide receiver duo in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, as well as a cornerback combo in Xavien Howard and newcomer Jalen Ramsey.

Adding Cook to that arsenal could make the AFC title race even more interesting, and it’s already a race that should be extremely competitive.

But the Denver Broncos are also rumored to have a lot of interest in Cook, and he could end up taking his time making a decision on where he’ll play.
