Following a successful stint with the Minnesota Vikings, Dalvin Cook is still surprisingly a free agent.
The perennial Pro-Bowler was one of the best running backs in the league when healthy, but the market for players in his position has been quite ungrateful lately.
That’s why former NFL GM Michael Lombardi believes the Washington Commanders should make the most of the chance to get him, going on record on The Pat McAfee Show to say that they should be ‘all over him.’
“Washington to me should be all over Dalvin Cook…
They need an electric playmaker and he would take a lot of pressure off Sam Howell”@mlombardiNFL #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/PDGPW2lWhi

Lombardi said that the Commanders need an electric player that could take some pressure off Sam Howell’s shoulders, adding that neither Antonio Gibson nor Brian Robinson is that type of player.
The former GM also said that, with the Commanders going through an ownership change, they might not be looking to make any big moves or investments for the time being.
Truth be told, other teams could benefit from a player like him even more, as the Commanders seem all set at the position for the time being.
But it wouldn’t be shocking to see them enter the race for their sweepstakes at some point in the future, as some reports stated that they were keeping tabs on Kareem Hunt.
Cook is obviously a much better and more explosive player than Hunt at this point in his career, although he could also be slightly more expensive.
The Commanders trust Sam Howell to take a big leap in his first full season as a starter, but giving him more weapons would definitely make things a lot easier for him.
