“Hard Knocks” has become a yearly tradition in the NFL since its inception in 2001.
This program covers a variety of topics for respective teams, mainly surrounding the players, their families, and general team narratives.
Throughout the years, the show has provided countless soundbites, memorable moments, and insight into an NFL locker room.
Despite the success of the show, many teams across the league have expressed disinterest in appearing.
As The Detroit News has reported, via Dov Kleiman, the Lions have been asked to be on the program for the second-straight season.
Report: NFL Films reached out to the #Lions to do ‘Hard Knocks’ for the second consecutive season, but @detroitnews
The NFL is apparently struggling to find a team willing to do Hard Knocks this season.
They can force the #Jets, #Saints, #Commanders or #Bears to do it but… pic.twitter.com/bjRUHEelZO

Kleiman pointed out that the program can technically force a club to participate, which isn’t ideal.
The eligible clubs are the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Washington Commanders, and Chicago Bears.
Even though the Jets, for example, have a lot of energy surrounding their team, they are still hesitant to participate.
However, if the Lions agree to it, the other teams are safe from being forced into partaking this season.
While NFL fans might enjoy another season of the new-look Lions, the team’s feelings remain to be seen.
The Lions are experiencing growth, as they were one game away from the playoffs last season.
Will they be able to find similar success in 2023, now that Aaron Rodgers is out of the division?
Many predict the Lions as heavy favorites in the NFC North this season, given their amount of talent on both sides of the ball.
They have yet to win the NFC North, another potential motivating factor to appear on “Hard Knocks.”
