This season has seen the Philadelphia Eagles flying high in the NFC.
With a 9-1 record, they are the best team in the NFC and all of the NFL.
However, some NFL fans feel the Eagles are overrated.
Are their beliefs true, or are the Eagles just a dominant force this season?
The Case Supporting The Eagles 2022 Season
It’s hard to argue against the numbers, as they show the Eagles being a top five defense.
I don’t know what people want anymore. The Eagles are a top-5 defense in the league.
—Jeff Kerr (@JeffKerrCBS) November 21, 2022
They are tied for first with interceptions (13) and third in sacks (33) this season.
Their 10 forced fumbles tie them for fifth most on defense this season.
So everything their defense is doing is solid.
However, they are also working well on offense.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts has 2,407 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
He also has 440 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns, making him a tremendous threat this season.
So how can the Eagles be overrated when they are doing so well in every department?
The answer comes from their schedule this season.
Eagles Came Into 2022 With Second Easiest Schedule In NFL
It’s easy to have great statistical numbers when going against some of the weakest teams in the NFL.
Coming into 2022, the Eagles had the second easiest schedule based on their opponent’s win/loss record.
Keep moving Jalen Hurts up your 2022 quarterback rankings. Not only do the Eagles own the second-easiest schedule overall, but they also have the third-easiest schedule to open the season through the first four weeks.

With their first four weeks having easy opponents, the Eagles built themselves some early momentum.
While the team is 9-1, they lost to the Washington Commanders and nearly lost to the Indianapolis Colts.
Their near collapse against the Detroit Lions to start the season, along with other issues, make the Eagles an overrated team this season.
