A Sunday night victory by the Kansas City Chiefs is helping Patrick Mahomes slowly make his way into the history books.
The young quarterback, who many feel is the MVP this season, had a comeback victory on Sunday night.
His win against the Los Angeles Chargers gives him a stunning road record against AFC West teams.
So what’s his record on the road against the AFC West and how is he making his way into the history books?
Mahomes Has Never Lost A Road Game To An AFC West Team
In his 14 career games against AFC West teams on the road, Mahomes has a perfect record.
Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes is now 14-0 in road games vs the AFC West, the 2nd-longest win streak by a starting QB in road division games since the 1970 merger, trailing only Hall-of-Famer Joe Montana’s 20-game road divisional win streak from 1984-93. pic.twitter.com/M0XysDJBFq

His performance puts him in the history books right behind Joe Montana, who had a 20-game road divisional winning streak.
However, some of these road wins tested Mahomes and took him to his limits.
The game against the Chargers on Sunday saw him needing to make a comeback to extend his winning streak.
Out of his 14 road wins, nine of those wins were within one score.
This matters, as it shows not every road won by him was a runaway.
However, it also shows he can lead his team to victory no matter where he is playing.
While some might say he’s in an easy division, it’s rarely easy to pull off a road win with thousands of fans disrupting play calls with their crowd noise.
With Mahomes’ success in the AFC West, teams will continue to have problems when facing him.
Until defenses can come up with answers, the home-field advantage will be non-existent against him.
