It was long overdue, but Mike Vrabel will finally be immortalized for his legendary tenure with the New England Patriots.

The team announced on Wednesday that the former star player and current head coach for the Tennessee Titans would be inducted into their Hall of Fame.

Now, the team showed a heartwarming video of owner Robert Kraft calling Vrabel to tell him the news of his induction.

Vrabel’s career started off with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Officially drafted in the third round with the No. 91 pick, Vrabel spent four years with the Steelers.

However, it was in New England where he took his game to a whole new level, making 110 starts and helping the team win three Super Bowls in eight years.

Vrabel was a one-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro, excelling on both sides of the field.

He was a prolific pass-catcher lining up as a tight end, logging 10 touchdown catches on 14 targets, including two at the biggest stage of the game.

And while not the most impressive athlete of all time, he was always a fan favorite, which is why he was selected by Patriots Nation to be the newest addition to their Hall of Fame.

Vrabel is now making a name for himself as a coach, owning a 48-34 mark in five years with the Titans, also winning two AFC South division titles.

He’s most definitely taken a couple of pages out of Bill Belichick’s book, being a defensive-oriented guy who’s not afraid to take risks and think outside of the box to get the job done, even if it’s not always pretty.
