After winning the Super Bowl during the 2021 season, the Los Angeles Rams had one of the worst title defense campaigns anyone could remember in 2022.
They suffered through key injuries and poor play from their offensive line, which resulted in a 5-12 record.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford, who played brilliantly in 2021, saw his production decline last season, and he also had to deal with a concussion and a spinal cord contusion that limited him to just nine games.
A recent photo shows him getting him for what he hopes will be a strong 2023 campaign.

Stafford, the No. 1 pick in the 2009 draft, spent his first 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions, and even though he got to play with Calvin Johnson for much of that time, the Lions weren’t able to give him much support overall .
He was traded to the Rams prior to the 2021 season, as they decided to go all-in on a run at the world championship.
Stafford put up 4,886 passing yards and 41 touchdowns that year, and in the Super Bowl versus the Cincinnati Bengals, he put up 283 yards and three touchdown passes as the Rams won it all in their home stadium.
The bad news for them is that Jalen Ramsey, their star cornerback, is now a member of the Miami Dolphins, linebacker Bobby Wagner, whom they acquired last offseason, has gone back to the Seattle Seahawks, and wide receiver Allen Robinson II was just traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But LA is hoping star wideout Cooper Kupp will return to form after a high ankle sprain prematurely ended his 2022 season, which would help them challenge for a playoff spot this fall and winter.
