The Washington Commanders’ owner Dan Snyder was thought to be finalizing a deal to sell the team.
Snyder had an asking price of around $6 billion, and the Josh Harris group reportedly put up the money to buy the team.
Yet, there has been another businessman looking to make a last-second purchase.
According to Dov Kleiman, DC native Brian Davis has offered $7 billion for the team.
Update: The sale of the #Commanders to Josh Harris for $6.05B might not be finalized as previously reported.

Davis is looking to become the first black owner in the NFL.
It would be a monumental day for the NFL if Davis can win the bidding war.
Many fans are excited about the idea of a Washington native taking over the team.
Glad they want to keep it DC

No matter who buys the team, most people are just happy to see Snyder gone.
He has been a bad owner for the organization and they can benefit from a lot of changes.
I’ve done too many mental gymnastics over this. Just honestly happy for the players and the fans.

It seems likely that this process will turn into a major bidding war.
That means Harris and Davis could keep raising the price over the next few weeks.
Bidding war

Whoever is the new owner will have their hands full.
The Commanders have one of the worst stadiums in the NFL and their facilities are not much better.
The new owners will have to make serious upgrades if they are serious about becoming a respectable franchise again.
Lol whoever gets the commanders gotta make a new stadium and rebrand 💀

This will be one of the most interesting things to follow for the rest of the offseason.
