The Houston Texans are early in a rebuilding process, and they have already been somewhat active this offseason.

They hired new head coach DeMeco Ryans, who had a successful two-year tenure as the defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers, and they have brought in veterans such as wide receiver Robert Woods and tight end Dalton Schultz.

The Texans are also armed with the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, which they will presumably use on a quarterback such as Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, or Anthony Richardson.

However, there’s a new rumor that GM Nick Caserio will leave the team following the draft and head back to the New England Patriots, the NFL team he has spent most of his adult life with.

This fan doesn’t think Caserio is actually going to leave.

This fan questions the wisdom of Caserio presiding over the draft, only to depart shortly afterward.

These Patriots fans apparently don’t want Caserio back in New England.

After spending three years coaching in the college ranks, he joined the Patriots in 2001 as a personnel assistant, and in 2002 he became an offensive coaching assistant, before moving into the scouting department the following year.

Caserio became a wide receivers coach in 2007, but he mostly served in the team’s front office in multiple capacities throughout his tenure there, which lasted all the way until 2020, the year after Tom Brady left to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He has been Houston’s general manager since January of 2021.

Although most feel the organization will use the No. 2 pick on a quarterback later this month, analyst Peter Schrager said he could see Caserio going for a player at a different position based on his track record so far as the Texans’ GM.
