The Indianapolis Colts organization could be in for some major shakeups for the 2023 season.
For starters, the team is moving forward with Shane Steichen as their head coach, the former offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Many are also projecting the Colts to draft a first-round quarterback, given their position at fourth overall.
Besides their new quarterback and coach, Michael Pittman Jr. is also eyeing a contract extension.
Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr, entering Year 3, on contract talks — he’d be an FA next spring w/oa deal.
“I think that happens naturally with performance. And if it doesn’t happen this year, no big deal.”
He’ll leave talks to his agent. “Those can get ugly… I just wanna play.”

Pittman is a three-year NFL veteran and is regarded as the team’s number-one receiving option for the 2023 season.
He was a second-round pick in the 2020 draft and is coming off a season in which he totaled 99 receptions for 925 yards and four touchdowns.
However, Pittman hasn’t had consistency at the quarterback position in his time with the Colts, something that the organization has struggled with as of late.
If they can draft a blue-chip prospect, Pittman could have an even better season in 2023, breaking his career records.
In a contract year for Pittman, having a new quarterback could be the right leverage for him moving forward.
If Steichen can achieve an offense that is anywhere close to what the Eagles had last season, Pittman should be just fine.
Last year, both AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith had over 1,100 yards, and Brown nearly had 1,500.
Will Pittman be able to achieve similar numbers, supported by a new quarterback in Steichen’s system?
