Over the last few months, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been heavily campaigning for a return to the NFL after suffering a second torn ACL in less than 18 months during Super Bowl LVI.

One of the teams he was linked to was his original squad, the New York Giants, but he ended up going to the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year, $15 million deal.

Jordan Ranaan, who covers the team for ESPN, reminded fans that there was no way the team would’ve given Beckham anywhere close to $15 million to return to the Tri-state area.

When Beckham started his NFL career with the Giants back in 2014, he started it with a bang.

He tallied over 1,300 receiving yards and made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three years, and his downhill speed in the open field was something to behold.

But injuries, particularly his two ACL injuries, have robbed him of some of his ability since.

In 2021, the last season he played, he put up 537 yards and five touchdowns in 14 regular season contests for the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams, and although he was still a threat, he clearly wasn’t what he once was.

For the Ravens, he will attempt to improve an offense that was just 26th in passing yards in 2022.

Meanwhile, the Giants have their own problems with their passing game.

In an attempt to improve that aspect of their attack, they brought in wide receivers Parris Campbell and Jamison Crowder, although more help will be needed to help quarterback Daniel Jones develop and take pressure off running back Saquon Barkley.
