Twins Fans Are Thrilled With A Surprising Player

The New York Yankees were desperate to get rid of Joey Gallo last season at the trade deadline.

The Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t show much interest in bringing him back.

For the Minnesota Twins, both of those teams’ loss is their gain.

After having a career-low .638 OPS with the aforementioned teams, Gallo signed a contract to play for the hungry Twins.

He looks transformed, and Twins fans are extremely excited about Gallo’s potential.

On Monday, he hit yet another homer, this time off Johnny Cueto of the Miami Marlins.

It’s his third of the young season.

Fans are already fantasizing a record-breaking season in the power department.

In the last season-and-a-half, Gallo missed those pitches.

Now, he jumped on it with aggressiveness.

Not only does Gallo already have three homers to start the season.

He is also slashing .308/.357/1.077 with a 1.434 OPS.

He even cut his 2022 strikeout rate from 39.8 percent to 28.6 percent.

If he manages to keep at that level, it would be the first time in his career he has a strikeout rate under 30 percent.

Of course, the sample size is still really, really small, but it’s nice to see a talented ballplayer like Gallo enjoying the game again and putting up some nice numbers.

This is a dream scenario for the Twins.

In addition to Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa, they have Gallo and Trevor Larnach performing well above their expectations.

Having those four healthy and producing would go a long way into making Minnesota a true contender in the American League.
