The Philadelphia Eagles not only lost their Monday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders, but they lost a crucial part of their offense in the process.

Dallas Goedert will indeed miss several games due to this shoulder injury.

The league, particularly the NFL officiating staff, is under intense scrutiny due to the nature of this injury, among others that have been missed throughout the season.

As stated above, the referees in the Monday Night Football game missed a blatant facemask call on Goedert.

This begs the question: Should missed facemask penalties be reviewable?

There was a recent rule change that allowed plays such as pass interference to be reviewed.

Why not facemask calls as well?

With the technology that exists, the NFL can review more plays than ever before.

Many analysts, broadcasters, and fans alike are calling for a rule to be changed.

We’ll soon see how the NFL responds.

What Will The Eagles Do Without Goedert?

Although the missed call on Goedert was said to be egregious, the fact that he will be out for several weeks is still a pertinent topic at hand.

The Eagles’ next man up at the tight end position is named Grant Calcaterra.

Ever heard of him?

The former SMU product was taken in the sixth round of the 2022 draft.

Thus far, Calcaterra has played in seven of the Eagles’ games but has only been targeted one time, where he caught a 40-yard reception.

His lack of experience leaves the Eagles in a bind.
