2 Players The 49ers Should Target In NFL Draft

The San Francisco 49ers appear to have one of the very best rosters in the NFL, especially eleven quarterback Brock Purdy makes a full recovery from the UCL torn in his elbow, which is expected to take about six months following surgery.

But they still do have a couple of needs, and if they’re lucky enough, they could at least partially address them in the upcoming NFL draft in April.

San Francisco won’t do any selecting until the third round, as it traded away its first and second-round choices for Trey Lance and Christian McCaffrey, respectively.

There may be some interesting players in this year’s draft at various positions, and with some luck, it could end up with one or two solid contributors moving forward, such as these two prospects.

Offensive Lineman Jarrett Patterson, University of Notre Dame

The Niners have All-Pro first-team left tackle Trent Williams, but much of the rest of the offensive line is a bit of a concern.

In fact, some feel the team’s substandard offensive line may have contributed to Purdy’s injury, as well as the one suffered by Trey Lance in Week 2.

Patterson has spent the last three seasons at the center, a position that was filled by Pro Bowler Alex Mack in 2021 before retiring prior to this season.

According to Notre Dame, he didn’t allow a single sack in three years, so perhaps he could give Purdy (or whoever is San Francisco’s QB1 moving forward) some added protection.

Right tackle Wanya Morris, University of Oklahoma

Mike McGlinchey may likely leave the Niners in free agency, leaving them with a void at right tackle.

Morris is 6-foot-6 and 304 pounds, and according to multiple scouting reports, he has a high level of explosiveness and length, which could make him a nice addition.
