With just four weeks remaining in the 2022 NFL regular season, the playoff picture is starting to take shape, yet it is still fluid.
Two teams went from having a solid shot of making the postseason to being in great danger of missing it with losses on Sunday, and these two teams will have to have an immense sense of urgency from here on out.
1.New York Jets
When the New York Jets got off to a 5-2 start, many figured they would probably make the playoffs.
But they have since lost four of six games, including Sunday’s 20-12 setback at the hands of the Buffalo Bills, who are in first place in the AFC East.
New York has big questions at quarterback, as it became clear that Zach Wilson wasn’t the answer there, and although it has some keepers on both sides of the ball, there are some considerable holes that could force it to watch this year’s playoffs at home.
2. Seattle Seahawks
Very recently, the Seattle Seahawks held first place in the NFC West and were one of the league’s feel-good stories, as Geno Smith of all people had them riding high, even after the departure of Russell Wilson.
It has been quite a journey for a man who seemed to be nothing more than a decent QB2.
Geno Smith paid his dues to get to where he got!!! 💯

But they fell apart against the rebuilding Carolina Panthers on Sunday, losing 30-24, making it three losses in their last four games.
Meanwhile, the rival San Francisco 49ers have gotten hot, and just like that, Seattle is now 7-6 and outside of the NFC playoff picture.
With games against the 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs in the next two weeks, the Seahawks’ magic carpet ride could be ending before their very eyes.
