The 2022-23 NFL season was a disaster for the Chicago Bears and their wide receivers.
While the team lost Darnell Mooney during the season, no other receiver filled his shoes.
With a lack of star power from the receiving core, Justin Fields suffered in his second season with the team.
However, the team can correct this mistake by landing a star free agent receiver.
But what wide receiver options are out there for the Bears?
Allen Lazard
With the wide receiver free agency pool being slim, Allen Lazard comes out as a star in the 2023 group.
The 27-year-old receiver was a key part of the Green Bay Packers’ passing game in 2022.
While 2022 was his best season for receptions and receiving yards, he’s always been a threat with the Packers.
He has no problem reaching out for catches, something which helped him gain the trust of Aaron Rodgers.

While his 2022 numbers aren’t amazing, they are respectable.
He finished the season with 60 receptions, 788 receiving yards, and six touchdowns.
These are numbers no receiver in Chicago ever hit in 2022.
Jakobi Meyers
If the Bears opt to keep Mooney as their number one receiver, then the team will need a solid slot receiver.
Jakobi Meyers from the New England Patriots fits this profile.
His 2022 season saw him with 67 receptions for 804 yards and six touchdowns.
He closed out the season with one touchdown in each of the last three games.
With the receiver pool being so thin, he shines with his consecutive 800+ yard seasons.
Landing him gives Fields a solid slot guy who can help the team in 2023.
