The New York Yankees had a difficult weekend against the Toronto Blue Jays, dropping the series by losing two out of three games.

In their two losses, New York was held to just one run.

But in the second game of the series, the team’s top prospect, Anthony Volpe got to experience a moment he will never forget.

The young shortstop made the Yankees Opening Day roster out of spring training and earned the starting shortstop job.

On Saturday, Volpe got a chance to experience something major for the first time in his career.

The star shortstop went deep in the bottom of the eighth inning to get the Yankees on the board.

It was his second home run of the year and his first at Yankee Stadium

After he returned to the dugout, he gave fans a nice little curtain call.

On Monday, YES, the TV home of the Yankees posted a video of Volpe’s first career curtain call.

When a player hits a home run, it’s simply a wonderful moment.

Volpe had already experienced his first career home run.

However, I have accomplished that on the road.

On Saturday, he got a chance to celebrate a faithful home run in front of the Yankee Stadium.

That home run gave New York a 2-0 lead.

Yankees fans were loving every minute of it as their star shortstop rounded the bases and stepped out from the dugout to get them hyped up.

What made it even sweater was that Volpe grew up in New Jersey and was a Yankees fan.

And as a local product, he got to live out a dream in front of a raucous Yankee Stadium crowd.
