The New York Yankees bullpen had a tough assignment on Thursday night.
Jhony Brito lasted only 0.2 innings, in which he allowed seven runs.
Not only was the game virtually lost without the Yanks even getting an at-bat (the Twins jumped to a 9-0 lead in the top of the first), but they had to navigate 8.1 innings with their bullpen.
It was a tough night for Colten Brewer, who pitched for 3.1 frames.
He helped take the game to the fifth inning, but allowed four earned runs on five hits and a walk in the process.
He did cover 3.1 innings, though, giving way to Ian Hamilton, Jimmy Cordero, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
The Yanks need fresh arms for their bullpen and had to choose between Brewer and Hamilton.
The latter pitched three scoreless innings on Thursday and keeps impressing, while the former was the one losing his roster spot.

Brewer could potentially return to the Yankees organization and serve as Triple-A pitching depth if nobody claims him.
As for Weissert, he was having a fine season in Triple-A with the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, with a 1.69 ERA in 5.1 frames.
He had a 5.56 ERA with the Yankees’ big league club last year, but the sample was small and he looked better than his numbers suggested.
He is expected to be available on Friday for the second game of the series against the Minnesota Twins.
