Out of all of the additions made by the San Diego Padres this winter, perhaps no move was more impactful than the signing of shortstop and slugger Xander Bogaerts.
Bogaerts, a two-time World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox, was signed to an 11-year, $280 million contract this winter.
He joins Matt Carpenter, Michael Wacha, Seth Lugo, and Nelson Cruz as one of the newest additions to the team.
So far, it appears as if Bogaerts is adapting just fine to his new surroundings in San Diego.
After all, he’ll share a roster with Juan Soto, Manny Machado, Josh Hader, Fernando Tatis Jr., Joe Musgrove, and Yu Darvish.
Bogaerts recently appeared on MLB Network and discussed getting acclimated with his new teammates.

The 30-year-old joked that the only bad part of spring training thus far has been the cooler weather out in Arizona.
Other than that, he says that everything has gone according to plan.
He talked about getting to know his new teammates and coaches, as well as front office executives.
The four-time All-Star said that he arrived to camp a little earlier than normal so as to get a chance to become more familiar with his new surroundings.
He also discussed his excitement for his new opportunity.
Bogaerts recalled watching the Padres postseason games last October and even thinking that they were going to end up winning the World Series.
He says that played a key role in his decision to join the Padres and strengthen their already deep roster.
