It is almost time for the release of MLB The Show 23.

The hit MLB video game will be released this coming Tuesday.

However, those who preordered the game can get early access on Friday.

And so, with the game about to hit the shelves, the time has come for players to guess their ratings in the game.

For context, players will be given a certain overall rating from 0-99.

On Wednesday, several stars from the San Diego Padres tried their hand at guessing what their ratings in the game will be.

MLB posted a video of the players making their guesses on Twitter.

Juan Soto was up first and guessed that his rating would be 90.

He wasn’t far off by any means.

His rating in the game is 89.

Soto jokingly vowed to do better and told his fans not to worry.

Manny Machado, who finished second in the MVP voting last year, was up next and predicted that his ranking would be in the 90s.

He was correct on that front, but he guessed that he would be at least a 97.

The slugger wasn’t far off, but his rating in the game is 95.

Machado was of course surprised by this, and jokingly criticized the makers of the game for always ranking him too low.

He did acknowledge that stars such as Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani would likely be ranked at 99.

However, Machado doesn’t think he’s too far below them.

Granted, he isn’t.

But he and Soto clearly expected higher ratings.
