The Philadelphia Eagles were perhaps the biggest winner of the offseason last year, so they didn’t want to rest on their laurels this season.

Just when most players were reporting for the voluntary offseason programs, Jalen Hurts was inking the largest deal in the history of the National Football League.

Hurts got a record-breaking contract extension of five years worth $255 million and $179 million in guarantees with a no-trade clause; he couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Of course, the news didn’t go unnoticed around the league, with countless fans, pundits, and even some of his colleagues sharing their thoughts on the matter.

That includes Miami Dolphins superstar Tyreek Hill, who took to Twitter to show his love and excitement over Hurts getting such a massive payday.

Hurts is a hard-working young man who’s earned the respect of nearly everybody around him.

He’s worked his way up the ladder both at the collegiate and NFL level, always playing with a chip on his shoulder to prove the naysayers wrong.

So, even if the Eagles couldn’t finish the job vs. the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, it was only right they locked Hurts up for the future, as he still managed to put up 35 points against them and had them in a position to win for most of the game.

The Eagles are stacked with talent at every position, and figure to continue to be one of the biggest powerhouses in the NFC for years to come, especially if Hurts continues to take steps forward in his development.
