After five MLB seasons without surpassing 20 home runs, new Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner found his power stroke in 2021.
That year, in which he shared time with the Washington Nationals and the Los Angeles Dodgers, saw him blast 28 home runs, still a career-high.
Last year, he had 21 with the Dodgers.
If his spring performance is any indication, he is about to shatter his previous career-high and exceed 30 for the first time in his career.
He hit yet another home run in spring training for the Phillies, this time against Joey Wentz of the Detroit Tigers.

It’s actually his first home run of the spring training, but he has barely played in Phillies camp.
However, he led all hitters during the 2023 World Baseball Classic with five home runs.
The second-ranked player had three.
He put on a show when it comes to his power performance.
He has a huge grand slam to turn the score around in the quarterfinals against Venezuela, he had two against Cuba in the semifinals, and another one in the finals against Japan.
He had hit one in the Pool round, too.
Upon arriving in spring training, he is picking up where he left off.
A burner for this entire career, Turner has been steadily shifting into a more complete player, capable of going 20-30 instead of 10-45.
His teams surely find more value in the home runs, as they should, and he has understood this to perfection.
He has a short, compact swing that generates more loft than you would imagine.
Trea Turner the power hitter appears to be here to stay.
