During the pre-draft process, many players are identified as blue-chip, can’t miss prospects, and are named on many teams’ boards.

With the draft quickly approaching, organizations across the league are scheduling meetings with prospective players, and completing their pre-draft evaluations.

According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, Julius Brents has been identified as a top cornerback in this class and has 12 team visits lined up thus far.

Brents played in four seasons at Kansas State, but his senior season was his best, statistically.

During his senior campaign, Brents totaled 45 tackles, one forced fumble, and four interceptions.

At the combine, Brents’ athleticism was noted by many scouts across the league and was awarded a relative athletic score of 9.99 out of 10.

He had a 41.5-inch upright, which was the second-highest among cornerbacks at the combine.

The only metric that was concerning was his 40-yard dash, which was 4.53 seconds.

However, Brents’ vertical jumping ability should be able to overcome any shortcomings in his speed.

As Garafolo points out, Brents is likely to be a day-two pick, especially considering how many meetings he has.

Some of his top visits have included the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans.

The cornerback position is coveted in the NFL, especially when considering the pass-friendly nature of the league.

Having elite cornerbacks can be the difference between a good team that makes the playoffs, and a great team that wins the Super Bowl.

What team will take the chance on Brents in April’s draft?
