The New York Yankees are heading into the 2023 season with high expectations.
The team was swept by the defending World Series champion Houston Astros in the ALCS after they eliminated the Cleveland Guardians in the ALDS.
But after a 99-win season, they were busy this winter, signing left-hander Carlos Rodon to a six-year, $162 million contract and re-signing Aaron Judge on a nine-year, $360 million deal, as well as retaining first baseman Anthony Rizzo.
Today, MLB.com Yankees beat reporter Bryan Hoch took a few pictures of the team during workouts at their spring training facility in Tampa, Florida.

He posted the pictures of the team’s workouts on Twitter, and one picture includes a rather unfamiliar sight.
That unfamiliar sight is Judge taking reps at first base.
Nothing else appears out of the ordinary, as Gleyber Torres appears to be taking reps all around the infield.
But Judge at first base is interesting.
It certainly can’t hurt the Yankees to try something like this on occasion.
Rizzo will obviously take most of the reps at first base and will be the everyday first baseman, but it’s interesting to see Judge taking grounders at the position.
It is spring training though, and now is the perfect time to try some new things and see if they work.
Either way, the Yankees seem ready to get to work and build off their success from a season ago.
The team is full of talent and looks to be the favorite to win the American League East for the second consecutive season.
