The New Orleans Saints made quite a big splash on Monday when it was announced that they had agreed to a contract with quarterback Derek Carr.
Carr was benched by the Las Vegas Raiders late in the 2022 season and was subsequently released, and he will get a change of scenery that could possibly jumpstart his production.
There were plenty of positive reactions from players to Carr joining the Saints, as shared in the tweet below.

New Orleans was hoping to capitalize on a weak NFC South this past season and reach the playoffs, but they won just seven games.
Jameis Winston was benched in favor of Andy Dalton, leaving the team in a tough spot without much direction.
Now, the Saints will have a man under center who has four Pro Bowl nods to his name.
Many have doubted his ability to win in the playoffs (he has appeared in just one postseason game, which he lost), but if he regains his old form, he can get them to the postseason.
Carr’s game dipped in 2022, as he completed just 60.8 percent of his passes and had 14 interceptions, but in 2021, he threw for 4,804 yards, and the year before that he posted a very strong 101.4 passer rating.
With offensive weapons such as running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Chris Olave, Carr will have a decent amount of firepower at his disposal this fall, not to mention one of the NFL’s better passing defenses taking pressure off him.
