The New Orleans Saints signed Derek Carr to a four-year, $150 million contract to begin their offseason.

Although the team already has Chris Olave and Michael Thomas on the roster, they have been looking for additional options to add to their receiving corps.

Recently, Saints reporter Nick Underhill cited that the Saints are targeting Bryan Edwards as a potential role player.

Edwards has already played with Carr, so the two of them should have a natural rapport.

New Orleans could provide a fresh start for Edwards, who was recently released by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Edwards has only been in the league for three seasons but hasn’t been given much opportunity to showcase his skills.

During the 2021 season, Edwards started in 12 games, racking up 24 receptions for 571 yards and three touchdowns.

He has proven that he can be an impactful member of a team’s roster, should they give him the opportunity.

Because of his prior experience with Carr, New Orleans seems like the best potential destination for Edwards at this point in his career.

The Saints appear to be in a prime position to compete in the NFC South.

As of now, Carr is the most experienced quarterback in the division, which recently lost Tom Brady to retirement.

This, paired with any additional free-agent moves that the Saints make in the coming weeks, could be a winning combination for Carr and the Saints organization.

How will Carr ultimately adapt to this new team, after spending his entire career with the Las Vegas Raiders?
