The Baltimore Ravens are proud to make a big signing announcement.
But no, it’s not what you think.
While they continue to try and convince Lamar Jackson to take less than his market value, they’ve at least managed to fill one of the biggest vacancies on their coaching staff.
According to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley and Tim McManus, they’ve hired Dennard Wilson to serve as their new Defensive Backs coach.

Wilson comes with plenty of experience at the NFL level, being a 12-year veteran as a defensive specialist and DBs coach.
He was a part of Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff as a Defensive Passing Game Coordinator and DBs coach over the past couple of seasons, and he was considered to fill in for Jonathan Gannon as their new Defensive Coordinator.
He also worked for the St. Louis Rams for four years, later taking his talents to the New York Jets.
Prior to that, Wilson was a scout for the Chicago Bears and a defensive standout at the University of Maryland.
This could end up being a huge hire for the Ravens, as Wilson helped the Eagles have the top-ranked pass defense in the league last season, also ranking among the best in terms of forced turnovers and opponent passer rating.
Wilson has also served as a defensive assistant at both his high school and college, and he’s considered one of the highest-risers in the league’s top-assistant scene.
Now, all they need to do is make sure to lock Lamar Jackson up for the future as well.
