The Raptors are “optimistic” with the renewal of Fred VanVleet

The first meeting of Fred VanVleet with the management of the Toronto Raptors will take place this Friday in the city of Los Angeles at three in the morning Spanish time. The point guard rejected his player option for the 2023-24 season worth 22.8 million in the middle of this month, for which he will become a free agent.

According to the journalist sports networksMichael Grange, there is some optimism in the offices of the Canadian franchise with a view to closing the continuity of VanVleet. Of course, the price would be high: four years for a total of 120 million dollars. That is to say, 30 kilos per season, an amount greater than that shared by Marc Stein this Wednesday, 85 million in four campaigns.

VanVleet will also meet with the Houston Rockets, a franchise that has made recruiting a top-notch point guard a top priority. In fact, they have also scheduled a meeting with Kyrie Irving.

For his part, VanVleet’s continuity in the Raptors would come with an added prize: keeping Jakob Poeltl, also an unrestricted free agent. According to Grange himself, this agreement could be formalized for an amount close to 80 million in four years.
