Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson received the team’s non-exclusive franchise tag on Tuesday, which will keep him around for now while allowing him to negotiate a new contract with any team he chooses.
He has been asking for a lucrative contract extension for many months now, and he reportedly wants a deal in the area of $50 million a year that would be fully guaranteed.
So far, there has been little to no interest in him around the NFL, which some find strange, given that he was named league MVP just three years ago.
But according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Las Vegas Raiders haven’t ruled out making a run at Jackson.

The Raiders made a franchise-altering move when they benched long-time QB Derek Carr late in the 2022 season and released him just days ago.
They’re coming off a frustrating season in which they blew multiple big leads and lost several close games, resulting in a 6-11 finish.
Yet, their talent, at least on the offensive side of football, is undeniable.
They boast wide receiver Davante Adams, who is arguably the best in the business, as well as star running back Josh Jacobs, who is coming off a monster season and just received Las Vegas’ franchise tag.
Some would say it wouldn’t be worth it for the Raiders to go after Jackson, as it would prevent them from addressing their other needs, especially on defense.
They finished just 26th in points allowed and 28th in total yards given up, and other than defensive end Maxx Crosby, they have many holes to fill on that side of the ball.
