The Las Vegas Raiders have made some drastic changes during this NFL offseason, with the most significant move being to move on from longtime starter Derek Carr.
With Carr now leading the charge for the New Orleans Saints, the Raiders have signed veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to fill the void left under center.
Although Garoppolo is a solid veteran that can win games, Las Vegas is also looking to the future, as the veteran quarterback may only be a short-term option for the storied NFL franchise.
With the No. 7 overall pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, the Raiders could go with a quarterback.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Anthony Richardson may be high on their list after he made an impression on the team’s brass.
👀👀The @Raiders – led by GM Dave Ziegler and Assistant GM Champ Kelly – spent time with Florida QB Anthony Richardson at his Pro Day. By all accounts, the meeting went well and the Raiders came away impressed. 👀👀

If Richardson is indeed the quarterback the Raiders are targeting, general manager Dave Ziegler and company may have to trade up in the draft to get him.
Currently, only four quarterbacks are making some noise ahead of draft day on April 27, with Richardson joining the likes of Bryce Young, Will Levis and CJ Stroud.
Levis might be the only one on the four left to take once the Raiders are on the clock at No. 7.
The Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, and possibly the Baltimore Ravens if they trade Lamar Jackson, could all look to draft a quarterback, and all of these teams are sitting ahead of Las Vegas.
Anything can and likely will change from now until draft day, but if Richardson is a target of Las Vegas, Ziegler may need to start working the phones.
