The Philadelphia Phillies are three wins away from becoming World Series champions for the first time since 2008.
Unfortunately, the Houston Astros are also three wins away from the trophy.
The series is knotted at one, but the Phillies have an important advantage: the next three games will be played in Philadelphia, at Citizens Bank Park.
The Phillies are very, very good while playing at home.
It’s natural: players feel like they are in familiar surroundings and feel the support of their fans.
When they play at Citizens Bank Park, the Phils are 5-0 in the 2022 postseason: that’s how hard they are to beat at home.
The good play in their local stadium is extensive throughout history, too.
“The Phillies are 21-9 (.700) all-time in Postseason games at Citizens Bank Park—the best home record of any team in any ballpark that has ever hosted at least 20 games,” MLB Network tweeted.

It’s Time To Write More Citizens Bank Park History
Citizens Bank Park replaced the old (now demolished) Veterans Stadium in 2004.
It has been hosting playoff games since 2007.
That period from 2007 to 2011 (the last playoff appearance by the Phillies before 2022) was one of the most successful in franchise history.
It’s time to write some more history, though.
Game 3 of the 2022 World Series will be played in Philadelphia on Monday night, starting at 8:03 pm ET.
Again, three home wins and the Phillies will return to the top of the league.
It’s much easier said than done, though.
Fortunately for them, Philadelphia fans will make Houston feel like it’s Red October indeed.
They will be loud, they will be intense, and they will cheer their Phillies as they try to be the tenth player on the field tonight and until Wednesday.
