It’s safe to say that the 2023 MLB season hasn’t started the way the Philadelphia Phillies hoped.
They remain the only team in the league without a win.
Their losing streak is starting to become ugly and bad enough to make history.
“The Phillies have lost their first three games for the first time since 2016. They’re just the second team in the last 25 years to start 0-3 the season after reaching the World Series (2007 Cardinals),” ESPN Stats & Info tweeted.

Well, you can go ahead and add a fourth loss, since they dropped their Monday’s game against the New York Yankees.
The Phillies showed last year that they are a really good team in the playoffs, but had some issues punching their ticket to the postseason.
That doesn’t make them a bad team, but they are certainly looking like the third-best team in the NL East again.
They have Trea Turner playing shortstop for them now, making the current losing streak more shocking.
However, it’s important to point out that they are currently without their best player, Bryce Harper.
Additionally, starting first baseman Rhys Hoskins tore his ACL and is out for the season, and Andrew Painter (expected to be a factor this year) is currently out with elbow issues.
The Phillies have a job, and it’s keeping things afloat until Harper returns sometime in May or June.
Right now, things are not going well, but in the grand scheme of things, four games over a 162-game calendar are something that they can easily overcome.
