The Pelicans agree with Herb Jones for four years and 54 million

The New Orleans Pelicans have insured Herb Jones for four years and $54 million, according to the reporter for ESPNAdrian Wojnarowski.

The power forward has completed just two seasons in the NBA, but the organization has high expectations of him. Even days ago they declined the team’s option for 2023-2024 in order to be able to offer him a more important contract.

The Alabama native was taken in the second round of the 2021 Draft and has made an impact on the court since his debut. In his freshman year he was named to the All-Rookie second team thanks to his 9.5 points in 78 games. In the last contest he has started in 66 games, leaving 9.8 points and 4.1 rebounds.

Defense is your letter of introduction. In the two editions that he has participated in, he has placed eighth in steals per game with 1.7 and 1.6, respectively. Additionally, in both seasons, he has received votes to the All-Defensive Team.
