The Florida Marlins were one of MLB’s expansion franchises in 1993.

That season, they used cool uniforms with a lot of teal and stripes.

They recently changed their name to the Miami Marlins and have adopted other uniforms and colors.

However, as part of the 30-year anniversary, the Marlins will be wearing the teal 1993 throwback uniforms in select games in 2023.

“The Marlins will wear these teal 1993 throwback uniforms during Friday home games this season,” MLB on FOX tweeted.

Judging by the replies on the tweet, fans loved the teal unis and are already looking forward to seeing them again on the field.

The team issued a press release explaining more details:

“The Marlins will teal back time with throwback Florida Marlins uniforms – same as the 1993 team in the organization’s inaugural season – for Friday home games this season (excluding June 2 – Lou Gehrig Day, and September 15 – Roberto Clemente Day). The throwback uniform will consist of the teal hats, featuring a 30th anniversary logo patch on the side, and the home white jerseys and pants with teal pinstripes.”

It’s a cool way for the Marlins to remember where they come from, and some of the best days in their history.

They won a World Series in 1997, just four years after coming to the league, and then again in 2003.

They might not have the largest fan base, but the Marlins are sure making their supporters happy with the old uniform.

We sincerely hope that these initiatives help ownership drive more people to games.

We saw in the World Baseball Classic how electric that stadium can be when full.
