If the Lakers made it clear last season, it’s that they want to continue with several of the pieces they acquired halfway. Thus, while they wait for free agency with the intention of renewing Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves, they are going to close the continuity of Jarred Vanderbilt by exercising the team option they have in their possession; reports Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
The Angelenos will thus certify the continuity of the forward 24 years old with a salary of 4.7 million dollars. Last season, after coming from the Utah Jazz, he averaged 7.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals, numbers he couldn’t replicate later in the playoffs.
Regarding the route that Vanderbilt may have wearing the gold and purple, he will be eligible for a contract extension of a maximum of 4 years and 71 million dollars from September 7. It will depend on his performance whether Californians welcome signing him to a multi-year deal.
