The Knicks move on from James Harden

In the last hours, the name of James Harden has been linked to the New York Knicks after accepting his ‘player option‘ and request the transfer to the Sixers. However, according to sources from journalist Brian Windhorst of ESPNThe franchise led by Leon Rose is not considering going for him, and neither is it going for Paul George, since they prefer to wait for the summer of 2024 and go for an available star.

“I think they’re just trying to save their gunpowder for maybe a big name that becomes available next summer,” Windhorst noted. «Is it really worth using your young assets and future rounds of the Draft for Harden? Or can they wait to sign a younger player who is a better fit for them?”, he explained.

According to data provided by Sportrac.com, by the summer of 2024 the following names will be available:

  • Pascal Siakam (30 years old)
  • Kristaps Porzingis (28 years old)
  • Jaylen Brown (28 years old)
  • Domantas Sabonis (28 years old)
  • DeJounte Murray (27 years old)
  • Tyus Jones (28 years old)

Not counting the names of Thompson, Tobias Harris, Mike Conley, Harden himself, Hayward, Lowry, DeRozan or Spencer Dinwiddie that by age do not add up.
