After the Philadelphia Eagles lost Super Bowl LVII, the question was whether they would run it back in an earnest attempt to avenge their loss there to the Kansas City Chiefs.

They started out by losing defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, as he signed a big contract to join the team they defeated in the NFC Championship Game, the San Francisco 49ers.

But on Tuesday, they retained one of their star cornerbacks, James Bradberry, on a new three-year contract.

Fans were generally happy, and they praised Howie Roseman, the Eagles’ general manager.

Bradberry didn’t make the Pro Bowl in 2022, but he was named to the All-Pro second team, and he did a magnificent job of locking down opposing receivers while playing in and starting all 17 regular season games.

Bradberry came to Philly a year ago after the New York Giants released him, and he proved to be a key reason why the Eagles improved from 9-8 to 14-3 in 2022.

He teamed with Pro Bowl corner Darius Slay to give them a fearsome duo in the secondary that helped the team finish first in passing yards allowed this past season.

Of course, Bradberry was involved in the Super Bowl’s biggest controversy when he was called for a dubious holding penalty in the waning moments.

Many feel the call was uncalled for, but Bradberry admitted after the game that he did, indeed, make enough contact with Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Moments later, Harrison Butker converted a field goal to provide the final margin of victory for the world champions.
